Wow! Thank you! This apparent death is exactly what I am dealing with in the current series in AC. In being led to see which spiritual infirmities are holding down any ability to rise above the life of the infernal proprium I am slowly seeing the tendencies that are Not of a Heavenly nature. And the realization that they need to be rejected feels like a death and strikes fear in the proprium.
Yes, the infernal proprium is dead to what is good and true – through working with the Word a new will – an new sense of self – a heavenly proprium – arises. That new sense of self is the Word worked into the life, so the Lord with us, given to us as if it were our own.
