So where does repentance come in? I can recognize where evil thoughts come from, and recognize they come from the hells, but when I reject those thoughts as being evil and that I want no part of them is that repentance?
Hi Fred, yes. Essentially the spiritual life is focussed on identifying the quality of what’s flowing in and not claiming ownership of the evil or the good. As you are no doubt aware the Greek word for repentance is “metanoia” which literally means “after-mind” from “meta” and “nous” and carries the idea of the mind being turned around. In Logopraxis work we are not looking to self-improvement, we recognise, at least intellectually, that the self or proprium can’t be improved upon.
