ACV6S20 Insights from the Second Round

The following insights were offered from people’s experience of the Word working in their life over this session cycle…

  • When the sensory level dominates our state it closes down our ability to receive insights from a higher level
  • When feeling critical of others give attention to what the opposite of this criticism is and allow that to moderate the presenting state
  • Boundaries we set up in ourselves can be habitual hereditary responses we like to fall back on because they are familiar states that our sense of self is identified with
  • As we work with the Text we work with the boundaries the Lord as the Word sets for us and in this, we gain protection and power to work with negative states
  • The Lord gives us many boundary stones though at times it can be hard to see how they connect
  • The Lord protects us no matter what state we are in
  • The Lord reminds us to allow Him to flow onto us like oil so that we can be elevated up towards Him
  • The more we see the more we are able to shun and so allow more of the Lord in
  • The process supports reflection which provides ammunition to deflect negative states
  • The process understood as birthing pains and returning to the same cycle – brings to mind the idea of contractions during labour – that they are repetitive and continuous – and you feel like you are not getting anywhere – but you have to trust that the birth will occur and that the Lord will provide you with a child when you are ready
  • We need to listen to the internal of the Word so that the natural can birth the child
  • Sensory experiences are appearances and they are not to rule over rational/spiritual truths and we look to the Word for grounding so that that doesn’t happen
  • The pain of birthing goods and truths is more of an anguish of letting go of old habitual ways of being
  • We need to live in the moment and be patient and accepting of the process by leaving aside time and focussing on things as they relate to spiritual/mental states
  • Anointing with oil to make holy means to bring goodness to something so as to elevate it
  • We need to practice looking for the good in others
  • Being awake to the process supports you so that we are able to cope with what arises from our work with the Word
  • To anoint with oil is to have love as the thing that governs our responses – to act from love consciously rather than responding from our habitual negative patterns or states
  • When we look for the outcomes we want the work seems slow and tedious, but inner work is slow and the more we can trust that it is the Lord who directs things in His time for our good then a state of acceptance can be reached and the slowness accepted as the blessing that it is
  • Often we come to the meeting carrying a lot of ideas from the Text that don’t seem to cohere together but once everyone’s experiences of the Word working in their lives have been voiced then it’s remarkable just how many of the questions being carried are resolved.
