I think that the proprium tries to control or manage either the Process or the Content, ..ie certain parts of the text which probably (Actually) sting. Or maybe my whole thinking process is too linear and longs for mile markers, or “outcomes”. There is something a bit unsettling in not seeing clear connections between what the “Text” brought up last session compared to what came up this session. Is that just the proprium attempting (quite successfully sometimes I might add) to derail what the LORD is trying to work with? What is it “in me” that longs for those connections?… Read more »

Hi Ian. I can relate to the idea you offer of truth being seen from different perspectives. It connects me back to the Text re the idea of the many different colours we see from the one light source that is the Word. And of an idea I read recently about angel’s heavenly propriums being seen as rainbows – each one beautifully unique. I had a dream a few weeks ago that I was facilitating an LP group and a new member showed up. He was slight and small with a grotesque face and I did not sense a nice… Read more »

Hi Sarah,
Thank you. After sleeping on it the frustration has been replaced with the realization that you have offered. The one ” main flaw” “in me” doesnt have just one face. There are many, and they need to be seen from all the different sneaky angles that “IS” the proprium. I appreciate your uplifting thoughts.

Yes sleep does that for me all the time too Ian :-). Such a wonderful provision of His. In fact I’ve just woken up this morning and was led to read Leviticus chapter 13 and it speaks to me exactly of what you shared – of the many, many, many ways and angles the hellish proprium reveals itself to us. And they are just the ones on the page!

That is an interesting chapter. I now am wondering what is my warp, .. and what is my woof?
Thank you.

One of the refreshing things I’ve found in LP is permission to let go of all the mental constructs: “there should be a pattern” “I need to discover X” “if it isn’t confronting it doesn’t count” –all my ideas about what “should” happen this session/in spiritual life. I find it anxiety relieving to actually use the LP idea to just take what the Text is offering right now, never mind my sense of what is important.
